Description
The Street Name Change: Lee Road Task is a Data Stewardship Task. To create the task, TrueGivers reviews the input_address_line_1 field and the input_address_postal_code field found on download. When the data in the input_address_line_1 field includes 'Lee Road' or 'Lee Rd', and the input_address_postal_code field includes '36877', then TrueGivers will create this task.
This task was created due to street name changes made by the city of Smiths Station, Alabama. Most Lee Road addresses within Smiths Station are no longer considered valid addresses by USPS and will be updated to bad or non-mailable. Due Dates and Expiration Dates
TrueGivers adds Due Dates and Expiration Dates to your tasks so that you do not waste time reviewing 'old' tasks that are no longer relevant.
The Lee Road Name Change Task has a Due Date set for 1 day after the task was originally created, and an expiration date of 1 year later (365 days). USPS will still deliver to the Lee Road addresses until March 2023, but it is best to start updating these as soon as possible.
Example
In the CRM, Jane Doe's primary address was downloaded the following address:
8838 Lee Road 246
Smiths Station, AL 36877
This address needs to be updated to use its new street name. This new street name is provided in the task: Mullin Stroud Road. We will create a task recommending that you update this address. You should update this address to the following:
8838 Mullin Stroud Road
Smiths Station, AL 36877
TrueGivers will create a task because of the Lee Road street name data. Let's say this record was sent for processing on 5/1/2019:
- The Due Date will be set to 1 days after 5/1 which is May 2, 2019.
- The Expiration Date will be set to 365 days after 5/1 which is April 30, 2020.
Steps You Should Take
Remember: Stewardship Tasks provide a specific action you can take on a specific record to improve data stewardship – and ultimately your relationship with your donor. Stewardship Tasks serve two purposes.
|
TrueGivers will provide some simple steps within the task itself. Use the Task Buttons to help keep track if you have started and completed a task or if you decided to ignore a specific task. TrueGivers provides the following buttons:
- Approve
- Complete
- Decline
- Delete
After you have determined what action you would like to take on the task, your first step is to review the data. Because TrueGivers uses third party data, you should always confirm the data provided is correct.
For the Street Name Change: Lee Road Task, review the street number, street name, city/state, and zip code. Use the free tools USPS ZipCode Lookup or SmartyStreets - to help you pinpoint the new address street name. If needed, confirm with the donor their address. Then, update the address within your CRM and remove any 'Do Not Contact' or Bad flags on the account, if present. Complete the task once you have made these data decisions.
