TrueGivers Field Reference

A guide to the fields shown on the Records pages and what each value means.

How to read field names

  • input_ prefix — the value as it came from your CRM at the last download. This is your data, untouched.
  • No prefix (e.g., address_line_1address_status_code) — the value after TrueGivers processing: address standardization (CASS), USPS verification, change-of-address (NCOA), and data enrichment. These populate after a record has been processed and synchronized.
  • On a record's detail page, the Original column shows the value before TrueGivers, and the Updated column shows the current computed state.

Address verification

Field Value Meaning
address_status / input_address_status / address_status_code V Valid — the address matched the USPS database and is deliverable
M Multi-match — the address verified but is missing a distinguishing detail (unit number, or a directional like North/South)
N Invalid — the address could not be verified against USPS data
address_residential_delivery_indicator Y / N Y = residential address, N = business address (USPS RDI)
address_vacant Y / N Y = USPS reports the address unoccupied for 90+ days
address_postal_code_extension 4 digits The ZIP+4 extension assigned during verification
address_county_nameaddress_state_name text Filled in from the verified address

Moves (NCOA)

Field Value Meaning
address_move_type I Individual — this specific person filed a change of address
F Family — the household filed a change of address
B Business — a business move
address_move_date YYYYMM The month the move was filed with the USPS
address_move_record_type A Active — no move applied this cycle; the address stands
C Current — a move was applied and this is the current address
H Historical — a previous address
address_nxi_code M Moved — a new address was provided
G PO Box closed with no forwarding address
K Moved and left no forwarding address
F Moved to a foreign country

When a move is found, TrueGivers updates the address fields to the new address and records the move date and type — so a record can show a different address than your CRM until it synchronizes back.

Deceased

Field Value Meaning
deceased_type I Individual — this person matched a deceased record
H Household — a member of this household matched (the donor themselves is not flagged deceased)
deceased_date YYYYMM Month of passing
deceased_link URL The published obituary the match is based on
deceased_first_namedeceased_last_name text The name on the deceased record (for household matches, this is the household member, not your donor)

Enrichment (demographic append)

These fill when your donor matches a licensed consumer-demographics dataset by name and address. Coverage varies per person — a donor can match with some attributes present and others absent.

Field Value Meaning
individual_date_of_birth_year year Matched birth year
individual_heritageindividual_religion coded Shown decoded on the record page
household_income_decilehousehold_net_worth_decile 1–10 Estimated decile bands (10 = highest)
household_homeowner_flag Y / N Homeowner indicator

Inactive Not in the active file (e.g., removed in your CRM)

Verification and move meanings follow USPS CASS/NCOA definitions as published by TrueNCOA (field definitionsoutput file guide).
